  • Keeps a list of your medications, with reminders to take them.
  • Lets you photograph or upload letters, prescriptions and test results, and explains them simply.
  • Shows your appointments and follow-ups in a calendar, with reminders.
  • Keeps emergency information and contacts ready when you need them.
  • Looks after family members with their own separate profiles.

Common questions

I have a new phone. How do I get my journal back?

You need a backup from your old phone. Sign in on the new phone with the same account, then go to Settings → Backup & Restore and tap Restore. To make sure you have a recent backup, tap Back Up Now on the old phone first, or turn on Auto Backup. Without a backup, your journal cannot be recovered.

How do I get my Premium subscription back?

Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you paid with, open the Premium screen and tap Restore Purchases.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Doctor’s Journal Premium → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Doctor’s Journal → Cancel.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Security → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, the data on your phone and the data on our server. It cannot be undone. Backups in your own iCloud or Google Drive stay there until you delete them yourself. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription, so cancel that first.

Where is my data kept?

Your journal is stored on your phone. Recordings and documents are sent securely for AI processing only to create your summaries, and are not used to train AI models. Backups are encrypted and saved to your own iCloud (iPhone) or Google Drive (Android). If you sign in with Google, the app asks for access to Google Drive only to save and restore your own encrypted backup. Read the privacy policy and terms.

Is this medical advice?

No. Doctor’s Journal helps you keep track of your care, but it does not replace your doctor. In a medical emergency, call 111 in New Zealand, or your local emergency number.

Doctor’s Journal is made in New Zealand by Māhanga Technologies Limited (NZBN 9429053963871).
